I’m a product designer based in Southern California - currently working at American Specialty Health. With a background in education and the arts, I strive to create beautiful, intuitive products with empathy first. I have always been a relentless problem solver who is curious about the world and a challenger of "what is".
JOURNEY TO UX
As a former teacher, my goals were to help my students learn through adapting to lesson plans, planning for formal and informal assessments, and presenting information to students in a way that they would understand. Little did I know, I was practicing these skills for my next career in UX design.
What started off as a literacy coach role at an edtech company transitioned me into a role where I was designing the software's first Lesson Menu, utilized by partner schools across the nation, in collaboration with our engineering, operations and research team. I developed a natural instinct to create meaningful solutions for our teachers through empathy and was passionate about developing new ideas that would work for all internal and external stakeholders. As I grow in my craft, I am continuously learning how to be adaptable, flexible and become the user advocate for all users with designing for accessibility in mind.
WHEN I'M NOT DESIGNING
You can find me at the nearest coffee shop or *ahem* cocktail bar enjoying a cold brew or a lovely gin & tonic, traveling to new places or catching the latest true crime documentary. I also am a huge reader and I have a yearly goal of reading 25 books (20/25 this year, so far).
